Roadrunner acquires Stagecoach Cartage

Roadrunner’s CEO Mark DiBlasi said the purchase of Stagecoach Cartage will expand its trucking network in the Southwest U.S. and along the Mexican border.

   Third-party logistics services provider and freight broker Roadrunner Transportation Systems has acquired Stagecoach Cartage and Distribution, a provider of truckload and logistics services based in El Paso, Texas.
   Roadrunner said in a statement it acquired the firm for $35 million.
   Stagecoach provides regional, intermodal, and over-the-road truckload services throughout the southwestern United States and Mexico, as well as warehousing and transloading to customers from facilities in south-central and west Texas.
   “Stagecoach’s strong presence within the El Paso and Laredo markets, coupled with the company’s Mexican Operating Authority, provides us with immediately realizable growth opportunities created by the accelerating demand within the region,” said Mark DiBlasi, president and chief executive officer of Roadrunner.
   Stagecoach generated revenues of about $34 million during the 12 months ended June 30, 2015, with EBITDA in excess of $7 million, according to Roadrunner. Stagecoach is expected to be accretive to Roadrunner’s earnings in 2015.
   Roadrunner has acquired more than a half-dozen 3PLs and trucking operations during the past two years.
