DB Schenker rails Scottish whisky to Poland

DB Schenker Rail has stepped up its transport of Scottish whisky from the United Kingdom to its rail depot in Wroclaw, Poland.
The whisky is transport from central Scotland to Barking in London. There intermodal containers are transshipped to the weekly London-Wroclaw service, which travels to mainland Europe via the High Speed 1 rail route and the Channel Tunnel.
The volume of whisky moved by rail to Eastern Europe is expected to increase over the coming months in line with the usual pre-Christmas peak, the German rail services provider said.
DB Schenker Rail will introduce a second weekly service between the United Kingdom and Poland later this year.
