Port of Olympia, Wash., to get federal funding
The House of Representatives Friday earmarked $684,000 to assist the port of Olympia’s intermodal rail expansion project.
The improvements at the Washington state port’s international shipping terminal have been designated a priority project of the highway reauthorization bill (H.R. 3.)
The port said the funding will advance the second phase of its three-phase $2.3 million intermodal rail expansion project designed to expand the port’s capacity to handle greater volumes of cargo by shifting emphasis from trucking to rail.
