Intercontainer-Interfrigo to rename Pannoncont
Swiss intermodal company Intercontainer-Interfrigo (ICF) will July 1 rename its Hungarian railroad subsidiary Pannoncont Kft as Intercontainer Hungary.
In March, ICF bought the outstanding 60 percent shares in Pannoncont from Intercontainer Austria GesmbH for an undisclosed amount.
“We are building up our sales strength in Hungary, channeling our sales and customer advisory activities through our own subsidiary,” said Franz Boni, chief executive officer at ICF and now Intercontainer Hungary.
In a separate development, ICF said that during the course of this year it would start a direct shuttle service between Hamburg and Budapest-Bilk. The Hansa-Bilk Container-Express will initially be worked twice per week in both directions, ICF said.
“By running trains through without stopping at the Sopron hub Intercontainer will be able to offer an overnight service, more in line with the requirements of logistics providers in and around Budapest,” said Patrick Meier, ICF’s director sales and marketing.
