Erie, Pa.-based Logistics Plus Inc., a transportation, logistics and supply chain solutions provider, has acquired the DoorLogistics door-to-door intermodal solution.
Erie, Pa.-based Logistics Plus Inc., a transportation, logistics and supply chain solutions provider, said Thursday it has acquired the DoorLogistics service of Virginia Beach, Va.-based SynchroNet Intermodal Services, Inc.
Logistics Plus said the deal includes the RateNow web-based optimization software and provides the company and its customers with enhanced intermodal container visibility, more competitive pricing and new operational support capabilities.
The DoorLogistics services will mainly be provided to third-party wholesale customers, such as brokers and freight forwarders.
The bundled solution consists of standard intermodal container (20-foot, 40-foot and 45-foot) door-to-door pricing with operational and customer support services, which include container tracking visibility, dedicated capacity, competitive pricing, and extensive power availability.
The DoorLogistics advanced automated systems manage all operational activities, which include intermodal equipment reservations, document transmission, drayage and rail line-haul.
The embedded RateNow feature allows for the instant and optimized spot quotes for all single origin or destination door moves by checking over 7 million tariff rates and 10 billion routing options to obtain the best possible rate.
