NORFOLK SOUTHERN OPENS INTERMODAL TERMINAL NEAR CLEVELAND
Norfolk Southern Corp. has opened a new intermodal terminal in Maple Heights, Ohio, near Cleveland, replacing an intermodal terminal located in downtown Cleveland.
The 70-acre, $11-million terminal 'will provide improved and expanded services for northern Ohio businesses moving goods between the Cleveland area and ports on the Eaast Coast,' said Mike McClellan, NS's vice president for intermodal marketing.
The terminal built in an existing rail yard in Maple Heights, is located near Interstates 480 and 271.
NS, based in Norfolk, Va., operates a 21,800-mile rail network covering 22 states, the District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada.
