North Carolina ports authority names Eager CEO
The North Carolina State Ports Authority's board Wednesday named Thomas J. Eager chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1.
Eager, currently chief operations officer and interim CEO, joined the ports authority in August 2000 as deputy executive director of operations. He assumed his current role in July 2003 following a reorganization of senior management.
He previously worked for Chiquita Brands North America in Cincinnati, where he supervised North American ports and intermodal operations. His 30-year career in marine transportation includes senior management positions with Florida-based Crowley American Transport Inc. and Sea-Land Service Inc.
