DOT TO REVIEW UN HAZMAT MEETING
The U.S. Transportation Department’s Research and Special Programs Administration will hold a meeting in Washington on Jan. 16 to review the outcome from the twentieth session of the United Nation’s Subcommittee on Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods meeting held in Geneva in early December.
Topics of the meeting will include: criteria for environmentally hazardous materials; intermodal requirements for the transport of solids in bulk containers; harmonized requirements for compressed gas cylinders; portable tank requirements; classification of individual substances; packaging requirements for hazardous materials; requirements for infectious substances; and hazardous communications requirements.
