Maersk shifts Dominican Republic operations to Caucedo

Maersk Line is transferring its operations in the Dominican Republic from Rio Haina to Caucedo, initially with services from Asia.

“This change in terminal will further improve the service offered to Maersk Line customers trading in the important Dominican Republic market through improved reliability of service,” Maersk said. “Caucedo provides excellent coverage of Santo Domingo, and all Dominican Republic inland destinations.”

The first voyages from Asia to Caucedo will be made by the 4,367-TEU vessel “Maersk Dampier” when it departs Hong Kong on April 21.

Maersk’s global imports into the Dominican Republic will in future move through Caucedo in a phased transition from Rio Haina.
