The liner carrier MOL (America) said this week it is adding another new metric to the list of regional key performance indicators on which it will report regularly.
The new metric is intermodal transit on-time performance, with MOL establishing a 90 percent on-time goal. The line will report on its performance quarterly from three origin ports in Asia to six inland destinations in the United States.
The first results will be shared for April-June 2012 in early July. The origin ports are Cai Mep, Shanghai, and Yantian, and the destination points are Atlanta, Chicago, Columbus, and Dallas.
“We believe that fast transit times and reliability don’t have to be mutually exclusive,” said Rich Hiller, executive vice president and chief operating officer, MOL (America).
The line began releasing its regional KPIs in February, then added a new metric for documentation accuracy in early May.
