Kuehne & Nagel opens logistics center at Frankfurt airport
Kuehne & Nagel Group has opened a new air freight logistics center at Frankfurt Airport's CargoCity South.
The Swiss logistics and forwarding company plans for the center to serve as a foundation for expanding its international air freight business in Germany and throughout Europe.
The 10,000-square-meter center, which includes an option for expansion by 5,000 square meters, cost 15 million euro (about $17 million).
About 55 percent of K&N's central European import and export air-freight volumes are handled via Frankfurt, the company said.
The facility will concentrate K&N's German air freight office with its subsidiary KN Airlift, the Frankfurt branch with its sea and air freight activities as well as administrative functions.
