CN to expand intermodal capacity by 15%
Canadian National Railway Co. said Thursday it will increase train capacity for overseas containers moving between the ports of Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto by more than 20 percent, while boosting capacity for domestic container moves between Toronto and Montreal and other Western Canada centers by more than 10 percent.
CN said that the new service plan, effective Aug. 22, should accommodate 125,000 additional intermodal units annually across Canada, an overall volume increase of 15 percent.
