Navistar picks up another truck order
Navistar Inc. said Thursday it received an order for 325 International brand tractors from flatbed carrier Boyd Bros. Transportation.
The news follows the May 11 announcement that giant truckload and intermodal carrier J.B. Transport Services reached a five-year agreement for Navistar to supply trucks through 2014.
Navistar will deliver about 5,000 sleeper and day cab tractors to J.B. Hunt under the deal, as the Lowell, Ark., trucking company replaces part of its fleet and adds capacity in the face of rising freight demand.
The Boyd and J.B. Hunt tractors will be powered by cleaner-burning 2010 model engines required by the Environmental Protection Agency.
