Seroka to head Americas for APL

Singapore-based container line and logistics company APL has named Gene Seroka as president of its Americas region.
Seroka, who has been with APL for 21 years, replaces John Bowe, who is leaving in June. Seroka was regional vice president for the Middle East for APL. He'll relocate to the company's Americas headquarters in Phoenix, and will be responsible for all of the shipping, intermodal transportation and terminal activities of APL.
'We're pleased today to give a new opportunity to an individual with experience in all phases of our business,' said APL President Eng Aik Meng. 'Gene will bring energy and enthusiasm to this important position and help us take advantage of opportunities in the market.'
Bowe was named president of the Americas for APL in 2004.
