FRITZ SHUFFLES TOP MANAGEMENT

   Fritz Cos. has appointed Raymond L. Smith chief executive officer and    Graham R.F. Napier to chief operating officer.

   Smith joined Fritz in January 1999 as the San Francisco-based logistics firm’s chief operating officer. He worked closely with the company’s chairman Lynn C. Fritz.

   Prior to joining Fritz, Smith was president of U.S. Fleet Leasing, a subsidiary of Associates First Capital Corp. based in Dallas. He also spent 15 years in various management roles at GE Capital.

   Napier joined Fritz in August 1999 as executive vice president of engineering. Prior to that, he was vice president and general manager of strategic business development and supply chain services at AlliedSignal Aerospace. He also held management positions at Ryder Integrated Logistics and Lucas Industries.

   “Although Lynn C. Fritz will step back from his day-to-day duties as CEO, he remains principal shareholder and will retain his key strategic, policy and oversight role as chairman of the board,” the company said.
