UP, NS EXPAND EXPEDITED SERVICE TO MEXICO, U.S. WEST COAST
Union Pacific and its U.S. East Coast partner Norfolk Southern Railway recently said they are expanding two expedited intermodal services.
The two railroads said they are adding northbound service from Mexico and Laredo, Texas, to Union Pacific's Marion, Ark., intermodal facility and Norfolk Southern destinations in Atlanta; Charlotte, N.C.; Jacksonville and Miami, Fla., Harrisburg, Penn.; and E-rail, N.J. Last summer the railroads launched expedited southbound intermodal service to Mexico.
The new northbound service will be offered seven days a week to Harrisburg and E-Rail and five days a week to the other cities.
Last week UP and Norfolk Southern said they are adding lanes for their 'Blue Streak' guaranteed on-time delivery service to link northern California and northern Nevada with Chicago and eastern cities on the Norfolk Southern system.
