EUROPE/SOUTH AMERICA CARRIERS PHASE IN BIGGER SHIPS
Compania Sud Americana de Vapores, Montemar and P&O Nedlloyd are phasing in three 1,700-TEU chartered vessels on their joint fortnightly Europe/East Coast South America service. The new ships will replace three ships of between 1,064 and 1,162-TEU capacity.
The Dollart Trader, chartered by CSAV, will enter the service when it sails from Rotterdam on Feb. 8.
The P&O Nedlloyd and Montemar ships have not yet been named, but will both join the service from Rotterdam on Feb. 22 and March 8, respectively.
The fortnightly service has a port rotation of Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Paranagua, Rio Grande, Itajai, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg and Antwerp.
Braztrans, Contship Containerlines, Euroatlantic Container Line, Hansa Star Line and Senator Lines all take space on the service.
