MAERSK INCREASES NORTH EUROPE/MONTREAL RATES
Maersk Line has announced a westbound rate increase on
its non-conference northern Europe/Montreal container service.
On Sept. 1, Maersk’s westbound rates are going up by $120 per 20-foot container and $150
per 40-footer. The increase applies to Canadian and Midwest cargoes moved via Montreal.
The rate rise follows similar increases announced by the Europe/Canada
conferences and by P&O Nedlloyd.
Maersk said that there has been a surge in demand in the westbound
trade.
