Kuehne & Nagel acquires logistics business in Germany
Kuehne & Nagel has acquired the contract logistics business of WM-Group, a German logistics and transport company.
WM-Group’s logistics terminals in Chemnitz and Leipzig will be transferred to Kuehne & Nagel, effective Jan. 1, and will be merged with the forwarding company’s operations.
Kuehne & Nagel will also acquire a 40-percent stake in WM Cargonet, a groupage (less than truckload) company.
The acquisition of German contract logistics activities from WM-Group follows Kuehne & Nagel’s purchase in October of Pracht, a German logistics subsidiary of Hapag-Lloyd.
