MITSUI O.S.K. LINES STARTS SHIP ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has announced the introduction of combined ship administration system designed to help with safe navigation through the use of information technology.
The Total Management System will analyze the performance of vessels and build on three applications already implemented by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines: the abstract log system (introduced in 1999), the abstract log data analysis system (started in October of this year), and the daily noon report analysis system (also completed in October).
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said that the integrated Total Management System “systematizes the combining of data transmissions from ships in order to conduct performance analyses.” Overall, the system tracks the adequacy of navigation and ship maintenance management, and accumulates management technology to feed information back to the fleet.
