Industry veterans join Blume Global, ORBCOMM and Port Logistics and are promoted at GEODIS, Boeing and INSIGHT

Logistics and supply chain solutions provider Blume Global has hired Tom Williams as its new chief financial officer.

Most recently, Williams led the finance team at Steelwedge as CFO and managed its acquisition by E2Open. Prior to Steelwedge, Williams served as CFO for Evestment Inc., the world’s largest institutional investment database. He has more than three decades of experience in finance, including leadership roles at public companies including Manhattan Associates and Sterling Commerce.

“Tom’s past experience in leading companies through high-growth periods and changes in the market will serve Blume well as the company continues to help customers digitize their supply chain to navigate the disruption brought on by global industry pressures and the COVID-19 pandemic,” said CEO Pervinder Johar. “I had the pleasure of working directly with Tom at Steelwedge. I look forward to utilizing his financial leadership of fast-growth companies here at Blume, especially as we enter the final quarter of such a challenging, yet productive, year and begin to plan for 2021.”

GEODIS

Mike Honious has been promoted to president and CEO of GEODIS in the Americas effective Oct. 3. 

Honious will be responsible for freight forwarding, transportation management, business development, strategic management, legal, accounting and finance, human resources, engineering and technology, ProVenture and the shared service center.  

A 15-year company veteran, Honious previously was the chief operating officer of GEODIS in the Americas. Prior to joining GEODIS, he held several senior level operations positions at Gap Inc.

“While these are uncertain times, we’re energized about the future. We have assembled a top-tier leadership team and we have aggressive growth plans, with our sights set on becoming a Top 3 logistics provider in the industry,” Honious said.


He will succeed Randy Tucker, who is retiring as president and CEO of GEODIS in the Americas. Tucker will continue to serve in an advisory capacity and is joining the company’s board of directors. 

GEODIS also announced it had promoted John Grubor to executive vice president and COO in the Americas. 

Grubor joined GEODIS in 2011 and led the modification of its labor management and productivity practices as vice president of engineering. He most recently was responsible for U.S. warehousing and fulfillment operations as head of contract logistics.  

ORBCOMM 

ORBCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq: ORBC), a global provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, has hired Rick Ochsendorf as senior vice president of customer operations for its North American transportation business. 

Ochsendorf is a transportation industry veteran with 34 years of experience leading teams responsible for operations, customer experience, product management, technology and sales across multiple platforms, including product strategy, positioning and marketing. 

Most recently he was the general manager of Trimble Transportation Mobility, which provides solutions for the long-haul trucking, field service management, rail and construction logistics industries.

“Rick’s impressive track record and depth of industry expertise in building and leading effective customer success teams will be a valuable asset to ORBCOMM and our North American transportation customers as we continue to enhance the overall customer experience,” said CEO Marc Eisenberg. “With the launch of the new, state-of-the-art ORBCOMM Platform, Rick will focus on ensuring our transportation customers have the highest level of technology, support and services, enabling them to implement our best-in-class IoT solutions and gain visibility and control over their fleets for all asset classes.”

Boeing

The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) has named B. Marc Allen as chief strategy officer and Christopher Raymond as chief sustainability officer.


Allen, who also will serve as the senior vice president of strategy and corporate development, was appointed to Boeing’s executive council in 2014 as president of Boeing International. He most recently served as president of the Embraer Partnership and Group Operations. 

He will report to Boeing President and CEO David Calhoun, who said, “With a demonstrated history of global business leadership and a track record of smart growth and partnership decisions, I’m confident in Marc’s ability to help us get right the key decisions in front of us during this unique time.”

As Boeing’s first chief sustainability officer, Raymond will lead a team that collaborates across the company’s commercial, defense and service businesses and its enterprise functions in support of the commitment to responsible and inclusive business practices and positive global impact. 

He will report to EVP and CFO Greg Smith. “Despite our current headwinds, we remain focused on innovating and operating to make the world a better place for future generations,” Smith said. “Appointing a chief sustainability officer is an important next step as we continue to elevate and sharpen our focus on sustainability in partnership with our customers as well as across Boeing’s operations, throughout our supply chain and in our communities.”

Raymond previously led integration efforts between Boeing and Embraer and served as vice president and general manager of autonomous systems within Boeing Defense, Space & Security. 

INSIGHT

INSIGHT Inc., a supply chain planning solutions provider for top global companies, has promoted Jenny Sweatt to president. 

INSIGHT Inc. has named Jenny Sweatt as its new president.

Sweatt is credited with helping clients solve the most challenging strategic supply chain design issues over the last two decades. Most recently, she served as INSIGHT’s vice president of customer relations. With her promotion, she joins INSIGHT’s board of directors.

“The benefits our software provides are especially important now as companies face challenges from COVID-19, natural disasters and economic uncertainties. I am excited to lead our company to find new ways to help our customers solve their biggest supply chain challenges,” Sweatt said.

Port Logistics Group

Port Logistics Group, a provider of omnichannel logistics services, has hired Ryan Powell as senior vice president of its Whiplash business unit.

Whiplash Merchandising Inc., acquired by Port Logistics in April 2019, provides a flexible and scalable order-fulfillment technology platform to service the direct-to-consumer marketplace. 

“With over 17 years of sales and operations leadership experience, coupled with his very relevant knowledge of the global shipping and e-commerce fulfillment market, we are confident that Ryan will accelerate growth with both emerging and established brands in this very competitive segment,” said Greg Morello, Port Logistics’ president and chief commercial officer. 

Port Logistics said Powell most recently was the head of revenue “for a well-known e-commerce shipping and fulfillment platform company, where he was in charge of global growth strategy with a North American focus.”
