Customs seeks data about ôsmartö containers

The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection is requesting information and descriptions, in the form of ' 'white papers' on innovative concepts ' to achieve cargo container security and integrity upon arrival at U.S. ports of entry.

Participation does not imply any obligation on the part of the government, and proprietary information will be protected to the greatest extent provided by law,” Customs said in a statement.

“This is not a request for proposal, but for investigative purposes only, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government.'

Electronic submissions are preferred. All responses should be submitted by Feb. 17.
