EXEL EXTENDS LINKS TO CROMPTON CORP.
Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, announced on Thursday that it had expanded its relationship with Crompton Corporation., a U.S. producer and marketer of polymer products and specialty chemicals.
For three years, Exel has provided warehousing and distribution management solutions for Crompton. Under terms of the new agreement, Exel will coordinate routing and scheduling for all transportation moves at Crompton’s facility in Geismar, La.
Robert Stewart, vice president of global logistics and planning at Crompton, cited Exel’s “transportation solutions for specialty chemicals” as being “a critical factor in our decision to outsource these services.”
Crompton Corp. has 7,300 employees, 50 manufacturing facilities in 20 countries, and annual sales of about $2.7 billion.
