NEWROADS BUYS APL DIRECT LOGISTICS
NewRoads, an outsourcer of fulfillment services, said Monday it has purchased APL Direct Logistics, the consumer direct fulfillment division of APL Logistics.
NewRoads has assumed the lease and management of APL Direct Logistics' 300,000-square-foot facility in Hebron, Ky., as well as the contracts of APL Direct’s clients.
The Hebron center increases NewRoads’ capacity to more than 2.5 million square feet of warehouse and distribution center space, as well as bringing “talent, technology and processes to our offering,” said Fred Forsyth, president and chief executive officer of NewRoads.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed. APL Logistics is the supply chain management unit of Singapore-based NOL Group.
NewRoads, based in Greenwich, Conn., has clients such as Godiva Chocolatier, Avon, Restoration Hardware, and Procter & Gamble.
