FedEx has switched from downsizing to incrementally growing its air cargo fleet by ordering large 777 freighters and postponing plans to retire older MD-11 jets.

FedEx is renewing its regional fleet with a cargo-friendly turboprop from ATR.

FedEx doesn’t just operate big cargo jets. It has small delivery planes too. ATR completed a test flight of a propeller aircraft that will carry freight for FedEx Express.

Hawaiian Airlines is expanding its short-haul cargo operations this month and expects its new 787s to add long-haul cargo capacity next year.
