SONAR 7.0

From Brad Jacobs’ perspective

XPO Chairman and CEO Brad Jacobs provided the keynote address to open FreightWaves’ 3PL Summit on Tuesday, and he did not disappoint. Acknowledging the issues with racial inequality in society, Jacobs said XPO would work to become more diverse and provide more opportunities for minorities. He also touched on automation, the COVID-19 recovery, M&A opportunities and more.

What are the right metrics?

Schneider takes on Mastery

Well-known industry veteran Jeff Silver has a new venture, and Schneider is buying into it. The carrier has made a “strategic investment” in Silver’s Mastery Logistics Systems and it will incorporate Mastery’s technology into its logistics operation.

As the country emerged from the July 4 holiday week, and COVID-19 hot spots continued flaring across the country, freight was relatively unaffected. Freight volumes have continued to grow, rising 25% on a year-over-year basis according to FreightWaves SONAR data.
