Technology & Maintenance Council 2018 exhibition full of opportunity for fleets

The annual American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting is one of those trade shows that industry professionals come away with not just knowledge, but best practices that will guide them throughout the year.

The Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) 2018 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition is set for March 5-8 inside Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center. The annual event features top trucking fleet professionals, vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers. Organizers expect over 5,000 people to attend this year’s show.

TMC has developed over 500 Recommended Practices for fleet maintenance professionals over the years, covering all the systems of heavy duty trucks, from tires and engines to corrosion and emissions systems.

The event will feature TMC Task Force committee meetings, “study group” education sessions, and technical sessions. Topics this year will include “How Last Mile Delivery Solutions Are Transforming Fleet Maintenance Management” and “The Coming Impact of Automated Vehicle Technology.”

TMC’s “Thought Leaders” will hold a Future Truck Committee presentation titled “Augmented/Virtual Reality Technology & Its Application to Fleet Maintenance Training” and additional sessions will address “smart” trailers, collision warning interfaces and Big Data benchmarking.

Over 400 industry suppliers will be on hand to discuss their products, making TMC 2018 an easy place to compare products and make the connections necessary for future purchases.

New this year is a mobile app that has been updated and will include everything you need to navigate the show, including the schedule, a list of attendees, and floor plan. Those attending sessions will also be able to participate with “on-the-spot” surveys through the app.

In its second year, TMC’s Young Leaders program will meet during the show. The program is designed to smooth the transition for up-and-coming leaders into leadership roles.

The show will also feature “Shop Talk,” a free-form discussion on equipment issues, and Town Meeting and Fleet Operator’s Forum – two programs designed to help fleets solve equipment issues.

Additionally, attendees can:

In all, there are other 100 industry task forces that will meet.
