TECO TRANSPORT RENAMES SUBSIDIARIES
TECO Transport has renamed its transportation subsidiaries under the TECO brand.
Mid-South Towing, based Metropolis, Ill., has been renamed TECO Barge Line. The company’s deepwater carrier, Gulfcoast Transit, was renamed TECO Ocean Shipping, while TECO’s Electro-Coal Transfer in Davant, La., was renamed TECO Bulk Terminal.
“These new identities more accurately reflect the activities of our businesses, which over the past 40 years have grown into a worldwide marine transport organization,” said Jeff Rankin, president of Tampa, Fla.-based TECO Transport.
TECO Transport is a subsidiary of TECO Energy, a $2 billion revenue energy holding company. The company’s other businesses include Tampa Electric, Peoples Gas System, TECO Power Services, TECO Coal, TECO Coalbed Methane and TECO Solutions.
