Transfix launches online load booking, rate negotiation capabilities for carriers

The New York City-based startup said the booking system allows carriers to reduce deadhead miles, wait times, and time spent searching and negotiating for a load.

Transfix, a New York City-based startup that pairs drivers and loads using an automated matching system, has introduced online load booking and rate negotiation capabilities for carriers, the company said Tuesday.
Carriers or their dispatchers can now accept and book a load, or counter offer to negotiate a higher rate, from their mobile phone, tablet, or laptop through the Transfix website. The booking system allows carriers to reduce deadhead miles, wait times, and time spent searching and negotiating for a load, Transfix said.
Transfix uses data and technology to match carriers to loads based on a variety of factors, including frequently driven routes, equipment type, or the carrier’s current or headquarters position.
Carriers that work with Transfix receive daily email notifications on available loads that match their profile, which link to a page that displays the rate, pickup and delivery locations, appointment types, trailer type, and required loading and unloading equipment.
