Schenker, BAX Global complete merger in Hong Kong and Macau
Schenker and BAX Global have completed the final phase of their integration in Hong Kong and Macau. The new joint company, which started on June 1, now trades as Schenker International (H.K.) Ltd. and Schenker International (MACAU) Ltd.
Schenker’s parent company, DB Logistics, which is part of German rail and logistics giant Deutsche Bahn, is integrating all of its logistics units around the world following the purchase of BAX Global for $1.1 billion from U.S. security firm The Brink’s Co. in January 2005.
Combined, Schenker has a workforce of more than 1,100 in Hong Kong and Macau. Its logistics facilities in Hong Kong have a capacity of more than 100,000 square meters in six centers certified by the Transported Asset Protection Association.
