Executive Moves: Crowley, ClearMetal, PHL and Forward Air

Crowley names vice president of international business and development, ClearMetal appoints vice president of supply chain management, Anacostia Rail Holdings names vice president of its Pacific Harbor Line subsidiary, and Forward Air elects board members.

Crowley names vice president of international business and development, ClearMetal appoints vice president of supply chain management, Anacostia Rail Holdings names vice president of its Pacific Harbor Line subsidiary, and Forward Air elects board members.

   Crowley Maritime Corp., a Jacksonville, Fla.-based marine solutions, transportation and logistics company, named Daniel Vargas vice president of international business development. Prior to joining Crowley, Vargas led Canada and Eastern U.S. sales efforts at SeaLand, Maersk Group’s intra-Americas regional ocean carrier. In addition, Vargas oversaw supply chain strategies and helped direct sales at Maersk and its subsidiary Safmarine from 1995 to 2007. He also previously served as vice president of sales and marketing at SeaFreight Agencies.

   San Francisco-based predictive logistics technology provider ClearMetal appointed Stuart Reichenbach as vice president of supply chain development. For the past 10 years, Reichenbach has worked at VF Corp., serving in various supply chain leadership roles, most recently as vice president of supply chain. Before joining VF Corp., he spent 17 years at UPS in several supply chain leadership positions.

   Anacostia Rail Holdings, a freight railroad owner and operator, has named Stephen Hoye vice president of its Pacific Harbor Line (PHL) subsidiary, taking effect in early August. PHL is a short-line railroad that serves marine terminals at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Hoye joins PHL from the Belt Railway Company of Chicago (BRC), where he has been superintendent since 2011. He joined BRC back in 2003, and his rail experience dates back to 1993 when he was hired by CSX Intermodal as a clerk-yardmaster-programmer.

   Greenville, Tenn.-based deferred airfreight transportation services and drayage provider Forward Air Corp. has elected Javier Palomarez, Thomas Albrecht and Ana Amicarella as non-management directors to its board of directors, which took effect Monday. Palomarez currently serves as the president and chief executive officer of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Albrecht is the founder and president of Sword & Sea Transport Advisors LLC, and Amicarella is managing director for Aggreko PLC.
