UPS appoints head of global freight forwarding

Romaine Seguin most recently served as president of the Americas and will be succeeded by George Brooks.

UPS has appointed Romaine Seguin as president of UPS Global Freight Forwarding.
She will oversee air, ocean and rail freight forwarding as well as brokerage and supplier management for the 220 countries and territories UPS serves around the world.
Seguin began her career with UPS in the Missouri District in 1983 as a part-time hub supervisor and most recently was president of the UPS Americas Region. She will relocate from Miami to Atlanta.
Throughout her career, she has held a variety of operational and management roles, including serving as the ramp and division manager in Louisville, Ky., responsible for the opening of the first automated test wing at the company’s global air hub, UPS WorldportTM.
George Brooks has been tapped to succeed Seguin as president for the Americas Region. He will be responsible for all UPS package and cargo operations in Canada and more than 50 countries and territories, as well as the UPS Supply Chain Solutions operations throughout Latin America, Miami and the Caribbean.
Brooks began his UPS career as a part-time package handler in Carrollton, Ga., in 1983. In 1984, he was promoted to package car driver and then held management assignments in all of UPS operations in Georgia, New Jersey and New York. Most recently he was the president of U.S. Operations engagement and communications.
UPS also announced that Daryl Tay has been named president and representative director of UPS Japan, succeeding Masato Umeno, who now is director of customs brokerage for UPS South Asia.
A UPS veteran of 18 years, Tay has spearheaded various initiatives while leading teams in sales, strategy, marketing and operations throughout the Asia Pacific region. Prior to his current appointment, Tay was the managing director for UPS Vietnam.
Ron Mayorga has been named the UPS president for Mexico and be responsible for designing strategies that will help better position the company in the country. Mayorga takes over the role of Agustín Picado, who has accepted a special assignment at the company’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta.
Mayorga started his career with UPS more than 31 years ago. He previously was the district operations manager at Red River South, one of the largest districts in the United States.
