Yang Ming establishes subsidiary in the Philippines

The new subsidiary will provide increased voyage frequencies and slots to Yang Ming’s service network within Southeast Asia, the Taiwanese ocean carrier said.

   Ocean carrier Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. said it has established a new subsidiary in the Philippines to provide its customers with direct services, including increased voyage frequency and slots to its service network.
   Dubbed Yang Ming Shipping Philippines, Inc., the new subsidiary will provide services in Manila, Cebu and Davao starting May 1.
   Yang Ming currently operates seven loops each week calling at major ports in the Philippines, including Manila South port, Manila North port and Cebu.
   “With the inauguration of Yang Ming Shipping Philippines, Inc. Yang Ming will optimize the management capability and serve its clients worldwide with a more comprehensive and close-knit logistics network by integrating business in the region and reinforcing the operations for import/export/transship cargo in the Philippines in keeping with Yang Ming’s long-term strategy of port network establishment and synchronization of information platform,” the company said.
