Executive Moves: ZIM, Rand Logistics and FPS

ZIM appoints new CIO, while Rand Logistics eliminates vice chairman position and FPS Victoria adds Australian operations manager.

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. has appointed Eyal Ben Amram as chief information officer, effective July 1. He succeeds Dudi Avni, who will continue to serve as ZIM’s chief customer service officer. Ben Amram previously served as vice president of operations at N-trig from 2010. Between 2009 and 2010 he was chief operations officer at Leadcom, and from 2004 to 2008 he held various executive positions at Amdocs, including CIO.

Bulk carrier Rand Logistics said Laurence S. Levy has resigned as executive vice chairman, effective Aug. 21. He will remain a director of the company. Rand’s board determined it was in the company’s best interest to eliminate the position of executive vice chairman.

FPS Victoria, the Famous Pacific Shipping Group member covering the Australian states of Victoria and New South Wales, has appointed Fred Vitale as operations manager for its Melbourne office. The 28-year veteran has held posts with various shipping lines and was most recently operations manager at forwarder Logical Freight Solutions.
