OOCL announces new intra-Asia service

The Hong Kong-based carrier will introduce a new weekly container service between North China, South Korea and Southeast Asia.

Ocean liner carrier Orient Overseas Container Lines will begin a new intra-Asia loop to serve North China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.
The fixed-day weekly service, set to commence sailing Jan. 27 from Singapore, will be operated by four OOCL vessels with capacity ranging from 2,200-2,500 TEUs. The vessels are on a port rotation of Singapore, Laem Chabang, Kaohsiung, Lianyungang, Qingdao, Dalian, Xingang, Pusan, and Singapore.
OOCL said the new North China/Pusan/Southeast Asia Service will provide “a comprehensive supplement to our Northeast Asia — Southeast Asia service network by covering North China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.
“Together with our other Intra-Asia services, OOCL can provide a more competitive service network in meeting the needs of our customers trading in the Far East.”
