CSX designates South Carolina industrial park as CSX Select Site, while CMA CGM appoints new shipping agent in Bahrain.
Jacksonville-based CSX Railway has designated an industrial park in Newberry County, S.C. as a CSX Select Site.
The “I-26 Mega Stie,” as the railway called it in a statement, is the second property in South Carolina to receive the Select Site designation. The over 2,000-acre industrial park is located adjacent to both Interstate 26 and the CSX mainline.
The Select Site program, introduced in 2012, identifies and vets locations for future manufacturing facilities along the CSX network. These sites can be developed quickly since the company has already addressed standard land use issues and performed comprehensive due diligence. Sites are screened in partnership with site selection consulting firm The Austin Company.
CMA CGM has appointed Fakhro Shipping Agency as its new agent in Bahrain.
The French ocean carrier’s new agency will handle all vessel bookings for the country beginning on March 21 from locations in Manama and Muharraq, Bahrain.
