Executive Moves: “K” Line, Aegean Shipping Management and American Airlines

“K” Line announces changes to executive officers, Aegean Shipping Management appoints new chief executive officer, while American Airlines names successor to retiring senior vice president of international and cargo.

“K” Line announces changes to executive officers, Aegean Shipping Management appoints new CEO, and American Airlines names successor to retiring senior vice president of international and cargo

   “K” Line has promoted Senior Managing Executive Officer Kazutaka Imaizumi to the position of chairman of “K” Line India Private Ltd., Executive Officer Aka Hiraoka to counselor of “K” Line Logistics Ltd., and Executive Officer Tomoyuki Okawa to chief executive officer of “K” Line Offshore AS.

   Aegean Shipping Management has appointed Apostolos Poulovassilis as its new chief executive officer, effective Jan. 26, 2017. Poulovassilis joins the company from Eletson Corp., where he served as chief operating officer, following a previous stint as regional manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa with Lloyd’s Register.

   Art Torno, senior vice president of international and cargo at American Airlines, will retire in April after 38 years with the airline. He will be succeeded by Jim Butler, who will report to Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Kerry Philipovitch.
   Butler has been with the airline for 21 years and was named president of American Airlines Cargo in 2013.
