WIN launches new mobile app

Worldwide Information Network’s new mobile application features real-time track and trace, an interactive agent directory, instant messaging, route checking, and shipment status tools, the company said in a statement.

Worldwide Information Network (WIN) has launched a new mobile application aimed at independent freight forwarders, the company said in a statement.
The “WIN Mobile” app features real-time track and trace, an interactive agent directory, instant messaging, route checking, and shipment status tools, allowing customers to see the status of their shipments at any given moment, including proof of delivery pictures or damaged cargo notifications.
The Bangkok, Thailand-based company said it would also make available a version of WIN Mobile that can be branded for individual freight forwarders to distribute to their own end-customers.
“Forwarders already using WIN to work electronically with partners and carriers now can now multiply the value of the information exchanged in WIN, and securely provide shipment visibility their own customers,” WIN Managing Director John DeBenedette said of the new app. “WIN is all about giving independent freight forwarders an edge. Now we have extended this to the mobile frontier.”
“The WIN Mobile app has been never let me down and is always a reliable source when I am looking for information on agents or tracking my shipments,” said Pierluigi Muzzulini, MIS Manager, G.J. Freight Support Services, South Africa. “Having the app on my phone makes it convenient and easily accessible from anywhere at any time.”
