DHX creates door-to-door rate product

DHX – Dependable Hawaiian Express, an ocean freight consolidator in the West Coast Jones Act trades, said it launched a door-to-door rate application that calculates combined transportation costs for LTL (less-than-truckload) and LCL (less-than-containerload) shipments for any continental U.S. origin to Hawaii and Guam destinations.
DHX said users receive a door-to-door quote based on shipment variables. Comprehensive costs are computed based on origin and destination locations, cargo pickup date, and number of pieces, weight, and freight volume. Calculating the cost of special accessorial charges, such as hazardous cargo, inside and residential pickup or deliveries, COD fees, or insurance is also available.
“We created the door-to-door application and the entire complement of e-tools to make shipping and logistics easy for our customers. E-commerce tools add value and capabilities that save time and increase cost savings for our clients and help them better serve their customers,” said Brad Dechter, president of DHX.
DHX also has e-commerce tools for bookings, rates, tracking, activity reporting, status updates
by up to 20 key milestones selected by the user, electronic data interchange, electronic
invoicing and/or notices of arrival, as well as online payments. – Chris Dupin
