KLM invests in new sort system for express consignments

The new system will help KLM Cargo move packages and mail more quickly through its hub at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.

   KLM Cargo has hired a company to build a new sorting system for handling express shipments and mail at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, the airline said in a statement.
   Construction is scheduled to begin in August, with the system ready for operation by the middle of next year. The project involves partially demolishing one of KLM’s three cargo warehouses
   The airline said the new system is in response to the growth of mail and express volumes.
