Korean Register’s CEO dies

The Korean Register’s 63-year-old chairman and chief executive officer, B.S. Park, died Monday following a brief illness.

   The Korean Register’s chairman and chief executive officer, B.S. Park, died Monday following a brief illness. He was 63.
   Park was named the classification society’s top executive in December 2014.
   Prior to this appointment, he was chief operating officer of the Korea P&I Club from 2006 to 2014, and before that was CEO of the Welson Korea Insurance Brokers from 2001 to 2006. He started his career in the mid-1970s with Pan Ocean Shipping.
   Park is survived by his wife and two grown children.
