Eighth new multipurpose ship for Rickmers
Rickmers-Linie has taken delivery of the “Rickmers Jakarta,” the eighth vessel in a series of nine heavylift, 1,888-TEU multipurpose ships.
The “Rickmers Jakarta” was built by the Xiamen shipyard in China and will join the line’s fortnightly, eastbound round-the-world Pearl String service in mid-December, initially calling at Surabaya, Indonesia.
Its rotation will continues via Hong Kong to Shanghai, Masan and Yokohama before crossing the Pacific Ocean and heading for the port of Colon in Panama, as well as Houston, New Orleans, Charleston and Camden in the United States.
