UP changes management roles

   Union Pacific Railroad said Thursday it has made some immediate changes to its management team.

   Mark Payne has been appointed assistant vice president of the Spring, Texas dispatch center, responsible for train dispatching over UP’s 5,500-mile southern region in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. Payne was general superintendent of the Harriman dispatching center.

   Replacing Payne is Greg Garrison with responsibilities for management of train dispatching over the 6,600-mile central region in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Kansas. Garrison’s was assistant vice president of intermodal operations.

   Tony Chacon has been appointed assistant vice president-premium operations, responsible for intermodal and automotive ramp operations for the entire railroad. Chacon was assistant vice president, Mexico marketing and sales.
