Shapiro names Starr CFO

   Baltimore-based freight forwarder and customs broker Samuel Shapiro & Company has appointed C. Walter Starr as its chief financial officer.
   Starr joins Shapiro with more than 25 years of experience in accounting, finance, and management serving in a variety of corporate roles. He was previously CFO and vice president of finance and administration at TBB Global Logistics, a Baltimore-based supply chain management company.

Located in the Washington, D.C. area, Chris Gillis primarily reports on regulatory and legislative topics that impact cross-border trade. He joined American Shipper in 1994, shortly after graduating from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Md., with a degree in international business and economics.
