FMC will publish OTI Licensing data on its own website instead of Federal Register

Agency says publishing OTI information itself will result in quicker delivery of notices, cut costs and improve presentation.

The Federal Maritime Commission said that it has begun publishing notices concerning Ocean Transportation Intermediaries (OTIs) on a dedicated page on its website.
The OTI Licensing Updates page will contain FMC notices concerning Ocean Transportation Intermediaries such as
license applications, revocations, suspensions, surrenders, reissuances
and rescissions of revocations.
Previously, this information was published in the Federal Register, but the FMC said a direct rule it issued allows it to instead post the information on its website.
The agency said the change allows quicker delivery of OTI notices, reduces its Federal Register publication costs, and allows it to “improve the formatting and organization of this information to better
serve the shipping public.”
To assist the public and shipping industry with this transition, the commission will continue publishing the information in both the Federal Register and on the website through Oct. 17, but beginning Oct. 20, the information will only be published on the FMC’s OTI Licensing Updates page.
