Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) CO., Ltd in China will construct the 38,000-dwt vessels, which will be delivered in 2020.
Norwegian tanker company Odfjell signed final shipbuilding contracts with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) CO., Ltd in China for the construction of two additional chemical tankers with stainless steel cargo tanks.
The capital commitments will be approximately $116 million, Odfjell said.
The 38,000-dwt ships will each have 40 tanks and a cargo capacity of about 45,000 cubic meters.
The first vessel will be delivered in June 2020, while the following vessel will be delivered three months later.
Odfjell owns and operates chemical tankers and LPG/Ethylene carriers in global and regional trades, and has a joint venture network of tank terminals.
