Executive Moves: UPS, “K” Line, CargoLogicAir and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co.

UPS names president of growth and emerging markets, while “K” Line appoints senior executive officer, CargoLogicAir hires chief financial officer and technical director, and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock names new chief executive officer.

UPS, “K” Line, CargoLogicAir and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock announce corporate appointments.

   UPS has named Mark Vale president of growth and emerging markets, succeeding Derek Woodward, who retired after 32 years with the company.
   Vale joined UPS in 1988 in London and has held various finance and accounting assignments in the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium and the U.S., most recently serving as corporate controller and international chief financial officer.

   Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) has appointed current Audit and Supervisory Board Member Harusato Nihei as senior executive officer, effective June 23, 2017. Nihei will be responsible for managing the Japanese ocean carrier’s finance, accounting and investor relations and public relations divisions.

   British all-cargo airline CargoLogicAir (CLA) has hired David Bowden as chief financial officer and John Nicholas as technical director.
   Prior to joining CLA, Bowden was chief financial officer at Fiji Airways Group, while Nicholas worked for 19 years at the United Kingdom’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), most recently serving as head of CAA technical services.

   Lasse Petterson has been named chief executive officer of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp., the largest provider of dredging services in the United States, effective May 1, 2017.
   Petterson was previously the chief executive officer of Gearbulk, a privately held company that owns and operates the world’s largest fleet of open hatch ships which are used to handle breakbulk, project and bulk cargo.
