Magnus starts term as NCBFAA president

Deringer’s director of customs affairs and compliance vows to focus on protecting the industry.

Amy Magnus started her term as president of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America on Thursday, after being elected to the role on Monday at NCBFAA’s 2018 Annual Conference in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Magnus is NCBFAA’s immediate past vice president.
“It’s a real honor to be the president of this association,” she said in an interview with American Shipper on the sidelines of the conference Wednesday. “Our focus will continue to be what it has been in the past, and that is, from a broader view, to protect our industry — customs brokers and freight forwarders — but make sure, also, that we have a collaborative relationship with Customs and all the other government agencies with whom we deal on a regular, almost daily, basis.”
Magnus is A.N. Deringer’s director of customs affairs and compliance.
