AMERICAN AIRLINES, PILOTS IN LABOR DISPUTE
American Airlines and its pilots union are squabbling over the speed at
which the airline is absorbing the operations of Reno Air, a regional
carrier that American acquired in December.
The pilots say Reno pilots should have immediately joined the American
seniority list, which would make them eligible for higher pay. American
says a full merger will take a year to 18 months.
The union says that if there is no agreement this week, the union board
will consider whether pilots should quit volunteering for overtime.
