FMC reviews 7 OTI license applications

   The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has received seven license applications for review. 
   The FMC received non-vessel-operating common carrier license applications from Balkans Air Corp., Brooklyn, N.Y. (Begator Hila, president); and Ghanem Forwarding, Halethorpe, Md. (Wael Ghanem, general manager). 
   The agency received NVO/ocean freight forwarder license applications from Omega’s Five, Miami (Amparo R. Murcia, secretary); and Tosie, Houston (Pius S. Tomdio, president). 
   The FMC also received ocean freight forwarder license applications from Encompass Global Logistics, Irvine, Calif. (Asa Cheng, manager); Motoni Global Investment Co., Forest Park, Ga. (Olajide T. Oni, president); and North Star Container, Edina, Minn. (Shawn D. Steen, assistant vice president). 
   Persons knowing of any reason why an applicant should not receive an OTI license or amendment are urged to contact the FMC’s Office of Transportation Intermediaries in Washington at (202) 523-5843. Lists of licensed OTIs (applications approved, bonds in place and fully licensed) – both ocean freight forwarders and NVOs – are also available on the FMC Website.
